Pull Apart Cake

I haven't heard of a Pull apart cake before my cousin sent me a link requesting for one. My nephew, Drake, who just turned 5, loves cars. I think he knows every brand and model of cars available in my country. haha. Smart kid. He haven't watched Pixar's Cars yet, neither have I, but my cousin and I agreed it'll be a nice theme for a birthday cake though.

So, what's a pull apart cake anyways? Well, it is basically cupcakes turned into a cake. This cake consisted of 32 dark chocolate cupcakes. (Stupid me, I was so used to baking dark chocolate cakes coz my clients were always aduls that I forgot that yeah, kids don't like dark chocolates!) Owells.

This cake was fairly easy to do. All I did was sprinkle chocolate sugar and scatter fondant rocks and grasses. I think this kind of cake has been going around US for a long time now. I guess its about time the local scene turns this into a fad. hahaha :)

I've got another request from my cousin. This time, a rocket ship with buzz lightyear topper. Interesting! I can't wait to make one! :)
